“Each year prior to December 1st, the official start date of the sale of our dog license sale, the Clark County Auditor’s Office proudly sponsors a “Top Dog Contest”, co-sponsored by The Humane Society Serving Clark County, to help promote the importance of responsible pet care and ownership,” said Auditor John S. Federer. This year’s contest, open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Clark County students, was an art project to tell a story about the dog owner and his/her pet. The top three contestants were awarded the #1, #2, and #3 2013 Clark County dog tags respectively as well as a certificate and prizes for their pets.
The following are this year’s winners:
1st Place Winner—Morgan Reynolds, a 4th grade student at Ridgewood School and dog, Jackie.
2nd Place Winner—Abigail Lynn, a 5th grade student at Emmanuel Christian Academy and dog, Polly.
3rd Place Winner – Zoey Mounts, a 4th grade student at WarderWayne Elementary School and dog, Daphanie.
“I was impressed with the excitement and enthusiasm of the students. I want to thank all of them as well as their family members and teachers for their participation in the contest,” Federer said. “Please take advantage of the hassle-free option of purchasing your 2013 dog tags on line at www.clarkcountyauditor.org with an added benefit this year of being able to upload a picture of your dog to the site.”
